Alain Welter

BIO – PT

Alain Welter, nascido e criado no Luxemburgo, é um artista mural e ilustrador. Após a sua licenciatura em Design de Ilustração na BTK em Berlim, regressou ao Luxemburgo para se enraizar como artista. Quer se trate de um muro, de um celeiro, de uma ponte, de fachadas, de torres de refrigeração, de autocarros ou de espaços comerciais, Alain dá a este pequeno país um toque de cor sempre que pode.

Entretanto, ilustrou algumas revistas e realizou exposições individuais em galerias de arte. As suas maiores realizações até à data foram o projeto “Make Koler Kooler”, em que transformou a sua aldeia natal “Koler” (“Kahler”) num museu de arte urbana, e a pintura de cinco torres de refrigeração nas instalações de um fabricante de aço, que lhe deram grande visibilidade no Luxemburgo e no estrangeiro.

Alain Welter, born and raised in Luxembourg, is a mural artist and illustrator. After graduating in Illustration Design at the BTK in Berlin, he returned to Luxembourg to establish himself as an artist. Whether it’s a wall, a barn, a bridge, facades, cooling towers, buses or commercial spaces, Alain brings a splash of colour to this small country whenever he can. In the meantime, he has illustrated a number of magazines and held solo exhibitions in art galleries. His biggest achievements to date have been the “Make Koler Kooler” project, in which he transformed his home village “Koler” (“Kahler”) into an urban art museum, and the painting of five cooling towers on the premises of a steel manufacturer, which have given him great visibility in Luxembourg and abroad.

35 – Título: Bom Frutas do Mope

«Uma vez que as minhas pinturas incluem maioritariamente animais e plantas, tento sempre pintar algo que possa ser encontrado na área onde o mural está localizado. Adapto sempre a minha paleta de cores ao meio envolvente, para que o mural se integre imediatamente no local. Neste caso escolhi cores típicas que se encontram frequentemente nas casas portuguesas».

«Since my paintings mostly include animals and plants I always try to paint something that can be found in the area were the wall is located. I always adapt my color palette to the surrounding as well, so the mural immediately intigrates to the site. In this case I choose typical colors that can often be found on portuguese houses».
